About Me:

Hi there! My name is Ryan Knapp, I was born June 27th, 2003 which makes me 21 years old as of writing this. In my 21 years of life, I’ve bounced around a lot of different passions before ending up here, pursuing children’s picture book authoring.

For me, pursuing this venture was a no-brainer, as I’ve always had an enjoyment for writing and have always felt quite good at it. Now I’m only just getting started, but in the brief time that I have spent writing our first book, I have greatly enjoyed it.

Part of this enjoyment was due to the decision to use rhyming, while I am still learning, writing and reading these rhymes is amazingly satisfying for me. I’m super excited to get this book into the hands of children and hopefully have the opportunity to read it aloud myself, sharing it with many.

I’m so excited to continuously work and grow within this field, hopefully being able to share what I learn with all of you, so we can all become better book creators together!

About Me:

Hi! I’m Sam, a 21-year-old wanna-be illustrator with a passion for bringing ideas to life through art, whether it’s digital or traditional, I love creating art that tells stories and hopefully inspires others.

Growing up, I had always wanted to do something related to art, all my elective courses were art-related and while frustrating at times I truly loved it.

So I decided to go to school to study Criminology! (facepalm) Time went by, but after getting Covid-19, and being stuck at home, I found myself rediscovering my love for art.

During that time, I started drawing again and realized that illustration was my true passion and that while I do love criminology and always will, I realized I wouldn’t be able to have a career within the field that I’d be happy with. SO! eventually, I decided to leave school and pursue a different path.

I’ve slowly been building my portfolio, and I’ve just started illustrating my first children’s book, while it’s definitely challenging, I’m having a lot of fun with it. Bringing a story to life through art is an exciting process, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me! 😀

The Inspiration For Our Name and Logo

Our name was created during a brainstorming session between Sam and I (Ryan). We wanted it to be clear that it had to do with children’s books, while also referring to the dual partnership of the brand. With that, TimesTwoTales was born. TimesTwo as in Sam and I (Ryan) and Tales of course referring to fairy tales.

Our logo was beautifully designed by Sam, this logo showcases two stuffed animals that represent each of us. The teddy bear on the left represents my (Ryan’s) childhood “Build a Bear” and the cat on the right represents Sam’s “Webkins” stuffed cat. The stuffed cat (Fluffy) is very old, hence why she only has one whisker in the logo, encapsulating her age, although Sam did spoof her up a little bit, as she is looking a bit rougher these days.
